This is a photo we took yesterday looking toward Zion National Park which is only about an hour away from our home. It was so beautiful and peaceful there. Besides the incredible mountains, I enjoyed being with my best friend, my husband. I never cease to be amazed at his goodness and patience.
We spent a little while looking around an old ghost town which is just outside the park and just enjoying being there. While my husband napped, I wondered if many people know that the word "Zion" means a place of refuge, a sanctuary, a place where the pure in heart dwell.
This last week as people have been sharing online the things they are grateful for, I feel that we have had a little taste of "Zion". I've felt so much positiveness, energy, and love from others, as they have not just reposted someone else's gripes, but shared their hearts. I have come to know people in a deeper way than ever before. It has been wonderful!
I hope that during the Christmas season and ever after, we will continue to look for the good, turn to the light, be more loving, and remember Christ. May we use our adversities as an opportunity to help us become a more loving, unified people prepared to meet our Savior when He returns.
