Are Bible Miracles True?

A nurse friend said, "The Bible often perplexes me. Am I supposed to actually believe Moses fasted for 40 days? Would he not be good and dead if he didn't have any nourishment or more importantly, liquid, for that period of time? "

Under normal circumstances her statement is true. People cannot live without nourishment for 40 days, but does this mean that the many miracles described in the Bible are not true?

I have now lived long enough to see man accomplish many "impossible" things. The thought of men actually walking on the moon was considered pure fantasy when I was young, but I witnessed it happening when I was 19 years old. People would have thought it "impossible" in the 1950's to replace eye lenses, heart valves, and knees, but it is a common occurrence today. You would have been laughed at if you told people you had a phone in your pocket and that was also a camera, and it even helped you find addresses (don't even mention the internet since computers weren't invented yet!). How about telling people that you put your dinner in a metal box, and, after you pushed a button, it was ready to eat in five minutes. No, I don't say anything is "impossible" anymore.

Even today,  to non-technological societies, most of our daily life would be considered "miraculous". Anything man doesn't understand he considers a "miracle". Once we understand, what happened is considered "normal".

If man can do so many "miraculous" things, then a supreme being can definitely do things that we are incapable of understanding at this time.  A being who has the intelligence to create a world can certainly keep a person alive for 40 days.

How did He do it? I don't know. Maybe Moses was in a different state of being. Perhaps he was sustained on pure energy, his body didn't dehydrate, or his body was constantly regenerating. It really doesn't matter how it was done. Even if God explained the process to me, I probably couldn't understand. What matters to me is realizing that God really does have the intelligence, the power, and the immense love to help us and keep His promises.
