Fallacies in the Video "If I were the Devil, would I have your vote?"

 

After seeing this video, I have been checking out some of the statements it makes. Here is what I found.

Americans are moving toward Socialism

• Yes, Americans are more accepting of socialism than they were 50 years ago said the Gallup poll site. They also said that our definition of what socialism is has changed, and now to many it just means "social equality". 
• Their polls also indicated that Democrats do favor socialism more than Republicans, and Republicans favor capitalism more than Democrats do.
• Socialism can include such things as a guaranteed minimum wage, free tuition, business owned by the workers, Unions, Social Security, and Medicare.
• Capitalism is run by supply and demand and the desire to make a profit. It is controlled by those who own the company and the materials. It can include monopolies.
• Most Americans prefer a mixture of both. I think I do. There were some terrible things done in the early 1900's where workers were abused and land was stolen from the poor. On the other hand, total socialism would remove workers and business incentive and give the government too much power. Americans seem to prefer a balance.

Socialism is just a step away from Communism

• Yes, that is true, but it is also a step away from "dog eat dog" and  "survival of the fittest" capitalism. 
• Watch out for "black and white thinking". Americans want government to  do some things (socialism), and we don't want them involved in some areas of our lives (capitalism).  
• We just differ on how much involvement we want. On the whole the Democrats want the government to take a "strong lead" in solving problems. On the whole Republicans want the business leaders to lead in solving problems. 
• America has swung back and forth for many, many years with the nation surviving and thriving no matter which party is in power. 
• So don't worry. It will be ok. There are always plenty of opposing voices to balance things out.

The Communist Party Endorses Biden for President

• I looked this up and it is correct. Here is the rest of the story.
• First, remember that if some group endorses you, it just means that they prefer you to your opponent. It does not make you a part of that group.
• The question to ask is why did they endorse Biden?
• The Washington Times reported that Avakian, the leader of the Revolutionary Communist Party of the USA said: "The fact is that there can be one — and only one — ‘good’ that can come out of this election: delivering a decisive defeat to Trump and the whole fascist regime.”   https://www.secureamericanow.org/communist_party_endorses_biden
• I looked up fascism. It is a far-right, form of government which uses dictatorial power and suppresses opposition by regimenting society (good-bye freedoms) and the economy.
• So, even this Communist leader supported Biden because he thought Trump was  a dictatorial fascist. I can see why they didn't want to mention this in this video since it was attempting to demonize Biden and full of half truths to create fear in people so they would follow Trump. 

Americans, Check out what you see and hear! Don't allow yourself to be manipulated by smooth talking, professional presentations. Question everything!
