Why doesn't God prove who he is?

A few days ago, I saw a comment online where a person was asking why God doesn't just do some "blatant miracle" to make us believe in Him. My first thought was, "Where have you been!?"

I thought about God creating the world and all the marvelous life upon it; His parting the Red Sea so the Israelite people would be protected from the pursering Egyptian army and then feeding these thousands of people with mana for 40 years in the wilderness; Daniel spending the night safely in a lions den, and his three friends not being burned in a fiery furnace. These weren't miracles?

When the Savior came, He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind and hearing to the deaf, and made the lame whole so they could walk. He stilled a storm on the Sea of Galilee, made food to feed thousands who listened to Him, and even brought several people back to life. Our Savior allowed Himself to die, so He could free us from death. In His resurrected body, He appeared to hundreds of people. How "blatant" does a miracle need to get?

Some say that they will only believe their personal experience. That isn't true. Few of us have actually been on the moon, or even to Africa.  We believe it is snowing somewhere, or about events in China because the News tells us, but we haven't experienced it.  Actually, our "personal experience" is pitifully small.

People choose what they will believe. Some don't want to "deal with" questions about God, creation, and what happens after we die. They simply dismiss all the miracles around them and the testimony of hundreds of people who have had personal experiences with God, because these questions make them feel uneasy and give them a sense of not being "in charge".

These people choose not to believe. Others, having the same experiences, choose to believe. This video shows four brothers who all have an angel appear to them to give them a message. The ones who have never wanted to believe in the things of God- still don't. The are unchanged and continue to doubt the power of God. The two faithful brothers have their faith strengthened by the appearance of the angel and are ready to follow his instruction. Their reactions illustrate that miracles can not create faith, but if we already have faith, miracles can strengthen our faith.
